Accidents and illness-112
By acute illness, traffic accidents or fire you can always call the alarm center by dialling or pressing the alarm number 112 from any phone box - without coin insertion.
Allergy.
We cannot guarantee that no cats/dogs or the like have ever been in the holiday houses, in which pets are not allowed, as the owner of the house can have a dog or cat of his own. You also have to be aware that the holiday house - especially during the early and late season - may have been vacant for a long period. Therefore, the climate in the house can be humid and stuffy, but this will disappear after about a day of heating/airing. Generally, you have to expect more humidity in a holiday house than you are used to at home.
Angling
A fishing license is required if you wish to fish in open waters, from the beach, in lakes, streams, brooks or the like. The fishing licence can be obtained at the local tourist office.
Arrival.
The holiday house is available from 3 p.m. on the day of arrival until 10 a.m. on the day of departure. Usually, the key can be collected at a key deposit place (e.g. a service station or the local sales and service office), where it is handed over at 3 p.m. at the earliest. From 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. the owner has access to the holiday house in order to carry out minor repairs. Moreover, the holiday house must be prepared for the next tenancy during this time. If you expect to arrive very late or later than the day stated on your rental confirmation document, the key deposit place or alternatively the local sales and service office (see the rental confirmation document) must be informed of the this – no later than the day before arrival. However, a regulation of the proheating can only take place if you contact the local sales and service office.
Bathing rules
On a poster in holiday houses with swimming pool and/or jacuzzi, the bathing rules are stated, and for health reasons these rules must always be followed. Otherwise, the letting office cannot be held responsible. If you rent a holiday house with swimming pool and/or jacuzzi, you will get some information of bathing rules when you pick up the key. Please notice the rules for bathing in the sea/fiord/lake. The Danish saying "Only a fool doesn't fear the ocean" is still true. Please note that the costs for a rescue which is activated because of irresponsibility can be laid on the irresponsible person. A rescue can easily cost between DKK 10,000 (app. EUR 1,340) and DKK 100,000 (app. EUR 13,400).
Bathroom/shower
Bathrooms in Danish holiday houses can be rather small. Usually, the bathroom contains a hand shower, often with a holder on the wall. A shower curtain is not always available, and the drain is often just a grating in the floor. Only rarely does the cabinet shower have an edge. The showers and cabinet showers are usually rather small. Cupboards, shelves and pegs for towels are not to be taken for granted in the extend you are used to at home. For safety reasons many Danish bathrooms are not equipped with plugs as it is dangerous to use ordinary electricity (220 V) in wet rooms. If you find a plug, it can probably only be used for shavers.
Beach
The designation "beach" does not necessarily mean that the beach is suitable for bathing. The distance to the beach is stated in direct line to the nearest shore line. The appearance of the beaches varies according to the weather and the time of year. Our employees are very acquainted with Denmark, but naturally they cannot know all areas and beaches equally. At some places the coasts are steep (however, most of these coasts are provided with stairs during the summer). Marked paths and roads should be used out of consideration for nature. If you wish to receive exact information about the beach, this can be obtained by the local sales and service office, The Danish Tourist Board or the local tourist office. The designation "safe for children" does not necessarily mean that the beach is a sandy beach. Even though it is a "sandy beach", stones may occur on the beach. Motoring is allowed on some beaches - especially on the beaches at the western coast of Jutland. Please read more under "Location"
Bed-loft
A bed-loft normally has a height of between 70 and 100 cm, and it is in this way not possible to stand up in the bed-loft. Usually there is no fencing, and there is access to the bed-loft from a steep staircase/ladder. A bed-loft is not suitable for small children and old or walking-impaired persons. The sleeping places in the bed-loft normally consist of foam rubber mattresses.
Bedrooms
Bedrooms in the holiday house may be small. The beds can e.g. be placed up against the wall in a way in which the bed is only accessible from one side. Bedsides, tables and lamps etc. are not compulsory in all bedrooms. We cannot guarantee that there is room for a cot in the bedroom. Please read more below under "Bed"
Beds
The beds in the holiday houses vary in size. The length can be from 1.80 m to 2 m. The double beds, which often only consist of one mattress, vary in the width from 1.20 m to 1.80 m, and the single beds are from 70 cm to 90 cm wide. The beds can be equipped with foam rubber mattresses. You cannot always expect to find a bedstaff or a ladder by the bunk beds. Please note: The above mentioned measures are only valid for beds and do not include sofa beds, as their measures do not necessarily meet with the stated requirements. Mattresses, duvets and pillows must not be used without linen or brought outside the holiday house. The mattresses are often covered with fitted sheets. These are for protection and your own sheets must be placed on top of these. We recommend that you bring a pee sheet for the small children. Please read more below under "Bring along"
Bicycles
By some of our holiday houses you will find bicycles. These can be used free of charge, but the letting office accepts no responsibility for the standard and defects, if any. However, we recommend that you accord the bicycles the equal good treatment as you accord the other equipment of the house. Avoid in this connection to ride in the water's edge. Boat Top If a boat belongs to the holiday house, it is the responsibility of the tenant to bring/rent/get hold of life jackets in accordance with Danish rules. Lacking use of the life jacket can cause a fine. In a few cases the holiday house can contain life jackets. In these cases we advice you to check carefully if the jacket fits exactly - and to check that the body weight doesn’t exceed the buoyancy of the life jacket.
Bring along
Remember to bring: Bed linen (notice that the length, width and thickness of the mattresses vary - therefore, we recommend that you bring large sheets), towels, dish towels, dishcloths, cleaning materials, toilet paper, bed linen for the cot (pillow, duvet and drawsheet) and e.g. iron. Please read more under "Beds"
Building sites
Please read more under "Noise"
Changes
The letting office is not responsible for changes of opening hours, any closings of e.g. shops, restaurants, surf schools and tennis courts that may arise. In this connection, please note that the distance to the next grocer's shop can vary as some of the shops are only open during the high season. Please read more under "Distances" and below under "Closing times"
Closing times
The closing times vary much in Denmark, especially in the holiday areas and during the summer when the shops are usually open until 9 p.m. - also at the weekends. There are good shopping possibilities all over. The shops have a wide selection and the goods are of high quality. In the big towns the shops are open from 9 a.m. until 5.30 p.m. on weekdays, Fridays until 8 p.m. and Saturdays until 1 p.m. If the key deposit place of the holiday house is stated as a shop, service station or the like, please notice the opening hours. You can e.g. ask at the local sales and service office (the opening hours can be found in the reception envelope, which will be handed over to you on arrival). The letting office is not responsible for changes of opening hours or the like in restaurants, shops etc. Outside the high season the nearest shop can be closed, for which reason the distance to the next shop may be relatively longer than stated. Please read more under "Arrival", "Distances", "Key" and "Moving in"
Complaints
Any complaint must be stated to the letting office at once (tel. no. and address are stated on the rental confirmation document). Complaints of the cleaning must be stated immediately on the day of arrival. Further complaints have to be stated as well in order to arrange remedy. Tenants are, cf Danish legislation, liable to allow the letting office a fair respite to remedy complaints from the tenant. Any compensation is calculated from the time when the letting office receives the complaint. If the tenant leaves the holiday house without informing the letting office verbally about this and without allowing a fair respite to correct defects, if any, the office cannot be imposed with refund obligations as the tenant himself has made it impossible for the letting office to remedy the defect/damage. Please read more under "Deficiencies" See section 7 in the rental conditions
Consumption
The consumption of electricity, gas, oil, telephone, solar heat and heat pump must be settled at the spot. Check the applied number on the consumption envelope when you arrive. Please note that a difference between the actual meter number and the number noted on the envelope can occur. This is due to the preheating of the house as a heating will be commenced before the occupation. As a tenant you only pay for the heating - the service work is included in the rent price. This also applies all year round to houses with swimming pool or jacuzzi (only if the water of the jacuzzi has to be heated). Houses with swimming pool will typically use more electricity in connection with the safety check of the water quality. All houses with the type of jacuzzi that has its water renewed every Saturday will in this connection use electricity for the heating of the water. It is common to both types of checks that the service work is free, but as a tenant you pay for the heating. This heating can amount to app. 30 kWh by these types of houses. The electricity-meter is often placed outside the holiday house. Before departure, the consumption is made up by reading the meters, and the money is placed in the consumption envelope, which lies in the house when you arrive (a few holiday houses are equipped with a coin-operated machine for electricity settlement). The price per kWh and meter step by use of e.g. telephone is app.DKK 1.95 (app. EUR 0,25) and 2.25 (app. EUR 0,30) respectively. However, we make a reservation for price regulations resulting from changes of supplier costs as well as adjustments of duties, if any. Valid means of payment: DKK, EURO and foreign currency in notes. The price for e.g. gas and oil may vary. You will find further information about this in your rental confirmation document as well as in the holiday house. However, you are also welcome to contact your letting office. Unless you are informed about anything else when you pick up the key or if you find another message on the consumption envelope, you are to leave the envelope in the holiday house (preferably on the kitchen table), where it will be collected by the owner of the house or by a member of the letting office staff. Please note: Electricity-meters in Denmark have no comma. All numbers are whole kilowatt-hours - also the last number, which may be marked with a red colour. Besides we refer to the instructions on the consumption envelope. In holiday houses with swimming pool and/or jacuzzi the consumption of electricity is considerably higher than in holiday houses without these facilities. The specific consumption is of course dependant of the number of persons, the size of the house, the equipment and the time of year. Please read more under "Heating", "Water consumption" and in the special brochure you receive when you pick up the key.
Cot
If a symbol for a child is stated in the house presentation, it means that the holiday house contains a cot. Usually, the cot is a so-called weekend bed; about 60 cm wide and 110 cm long. You have to bring your own pillow, duvet and bed linen. The bed is suitable for children under 4 years of age. At most letting offices it is possible to rent a cot and a high chair. It cannot be guaranteed that there is room for the cot in the bedrooms of the holiday house. Please read more under "Hire of cot, high chair, bed linen and towels"
Cupboard space
The illustrated cupboards may in some cases be small and narrow cupboards, e.g. only with a curtain or completely open. You may find some private items, which belong to the house owner, in the cupboards or drawers. You have to expect a limited cupboard space, and there may not be room for all of your garments. We cannot guarantee that the holiday house contains hangers.
Currency, banks and savings banks
Banks and savings banks are usually open from 9.30 a.m. until 4 p.m. on weekdays. They are closed on Saturdays and Sundays. Outside the opening hours you can exchange money at the tourist office. If you have a credit card, e.g. a Euro card and a personal code belonging to the card, you can draw money in the cash dispenser. These machines are available day and night and are situated by most banks. Most restaurants and shops accept foreign currency, but not necessarily at the current rate. Please notice that the letting office usually doesn’t accept credit cards.
Customs and import rules
You can seek information with the customs authorities in your native country in order to learn more about which goods and in which volume you can import them into Denmark. On arrival in Denmark you are obliged to stop on your own initiative for customs control and state any goods which cannot undoubtedly be imported into Denmark duty and tax free, or which are placed under special import restrictions. Furthermore, it is a condition for the exemption from duty and tax that you are the owner of the goods and that the import is not commercial, which means that the goods cannot be resold after the import. By customs clearance you are obliged to prove that the conditions for the exemption from duty and tax are present, e.g. the duration of the stay abroad, the age conditions or the description and price of the goods. The customs authorities decide whether the documentation is satisfactory or not.
Damages
Any damage in the holiday house must be reported to the letting office immediately. In the case that kitchen utensils go to pieces during your stay, please state this on the back of the consumption envelope and settle the amount on the spot. Please read more under "Complaints" and "Deficiencies" See section 7 in the rental conditions
Deficiencies
Any deficiency in the holiday house must be stated at once, in order to give the letting office a chance to remedy the deficiency. Please read more under "Complaints"
Denouncement
The letting office is entitled to denounce the tenancy without refund if you behave inconsistent with Danish law as well as common good order.
Departure
The key has to be dropped off/put at the same place as you collected it. At departure, the holiday house must be tidied up and cleaned. Windows and doors are to be closed/locked. All furniture and other equipment must be placed at its original place and in the same condition as on your arrival. Read the electricity-meter as well as the telephone counter and place the accounted amount in the consuption envelope. The consumption envelopes, supplied with the correct amounts, are to be left in the holiday house - that is, unless you have been informed about anything else as you collected the key or if no other messages have been stated on the settling envelope. If you wish to leave the holiday house before the pre-arranged time of departure, you are, for insurable causes, under an obligation to inform the letting office about this. During the winter period, from November to May, it is important never to switch off the electricity - in order to avoid frost injuries. By departure, please regulate the radiators down to 5 degrees C as well as the floor heating to a minimum temperature Please read more under "Consumption"
Distances
The distances stated in the house descriptions are estimated and in direct line, for which reason deviations may occur. The distances must therefore be considered as a guide. Even though the distance stated is relatively short in direct line, the walk or the drive can be considerable longer. A short distance to the beach does therefore not always mean that you can walk directly down to the beach, i. a. because of steep shores or other private property. Or perhaps there is a road between the holiday house and the beach. Please note that the distance to the next grocer's shop can vary, as some of the shops are only open during the high season. Please read more under "Changes" and "Closing times"
Drain
Do not throw sanitary towels, wads, cotton wool, napkins or the like in the toilet as it can easily course a blocking. Temporary problems with the drain from the toilet, shower etc. may also arise by heavy rain. However, it usually adjusts itself after 1-2 days. A few holiday houses have a sewerage system with an attached pump. Check that the contact is switched on and that the fuses are turned on. NB; Do not pour food scraps, deep fat or dripping in the drains or in the toilet!
Driving in Denmark
A driver has to bring along his drivers licence as well as the Vehicle Registration Certificate. Furthermore, it is wise to bring along the insurance policy and the SOS-card too. The car must be provided with a nationality plate – unless it already has EU number plates. In Denmark it is required that the driver as well as the passengers use a seat belt when driving, both on the front and on the back seat (only if seat belts are available on the back seat). It is also required that the dipped headlights are turned on all of the time. The Danish police collects fines for exceeding of speed at the spot. We draw your attention to the fact that the limit for consumption of alcohol is 0.5 per thousand.
Electricity
All our holiday houses are connected up with electricity (220 V), which provides heating of water, radiators, floors, swimming pools etc. In case of total or partial power failure, please check the fuses, the ground fault circuit interrupter as well as the plugs (on/off). The ground fault circuit interrupter can most often be found in a cupboard or in the tool shed. As a starting point you can expect the fuses to be placed on the opposite indoor side of the place, where the electricity-meter is placed on the outside of the house. In case of power failure in the sauna, it is rarely possible to determine which one of the 3 fuses in the group has blown, and therefore it can be necessary to replace all 3 fuses. Usually, spare fuses are available in the house. If this is not the case, please buy some yourself, and the letting office will naturally refund the amount on presentation of a receipt. If the ground fault circuit interrupter repeatedly switches off, it can be due to overloading, which is caused by the usage of too many electrical devices at one time (e.g. dish washer, washing machine, tumbler, jacuzzi and so on). Please read more under "Consumption"
Farming
Denmark is a highly developed agricultural country, which means that we today are free from most of the dangerous diseases among domestic animals, e.g. hog cholera and foot-and-mouth disease. So please help us prevent that these diseases are introduced in Denmark. The best way to do this is to omit to bring meat into the country. It is only natural that obnoxious smells and noise nuisances occur in an agricultural country like Denmark.
Final cleaning
The final cleaning is as a basis carried out by the tenant. If you wish to let us handle the final cleaning, you can order it by the booking or until 3 days before departure from the holiday house at the local sales and service office or at the main office. As tenants, you are responsible for the following points which are not included in our final cleaning:
· dish washing (tableware, cutlery, glases, cooking utensils etc.)
· general tidying-up - inside and outside
· cleaning of grill and garden furniture
Our final cleaning includes:
· cleaning of windows
· cleaning of tables, floors, toilets, sinks, tiles, taps, mirrors, refrigerators, cooker, oven/microwave oven and coffee machine
· cleaning of woodburning stove, if any - do not use the vacuum cleaner for this and always be aware of ember
· cleaning of sanitary installations in houses with swimming pool and/or jacuzzi
Holiday houses with swimming pool and/or jacuzzi demand an extensive final cleaning because of their size, and therefore we recommend our tenants to leave the final cleaning of these houses to us against payment.
See the point “Useful tips” for prices
Firewood/woodburning stove
If it is not specifically stated in the house description, firewood for the fireplace/woodburning stove is not included in the rent price. Firewood can be purchased at the grocer's shop. Firewood by the holiday house is private property of the owner and may not be used. In some cases it can be used against payment, and if that is the case, it will appear from a notice in the holiday house. You then pay directly to the owner and the money for the firewood is left in the house.
Under no circumstances may wood refuse from the beach or the like be used, as the salt content causes damages to the fireplace/woodburning stove.
Because of the fire danger the woodburning stove must not be emptied for ashes before they are completely cooled. The danger of fire can last up to 3 days after using the woodburning stove. If you have any doubts, you should not empty it. Because of this you can experience that the woodburning stove is not emptied when you arrive to the house. The ashes must be cooled completely before they can be put in the rubbish bag.
It is easier to light a fire in the stove if there is about 2 cm of ashes in the bottom.
By extreme winds or stormy weather it may not be possible to use the woodburning stove, as the smoke is pressed back into the chimney.
Floor heating
The heating of the floor often lasts between 24 and 48 hours.
The thermostat (on/off button) is usually located right above the skirting on the outside or inside of the room with floor heating. Please note that floor heating most frequently means that the bathroom has floor heating. If the house contains more bathrooms, it does not necessarily mean that all bathrooms have floor heating.
Forgotten possessions
Should you, through an oversight, leave personal possessions in the holiday house, the letting office would like to help you by sending the forgotten items on to your home address. The possessions will be delivered to you against payment of the trade charge. We are not responsible for forgotten possessions, which subsequently cannot be found.
Further information
If you wish to receive further information about any of the subjects mentioned on these pages or anything else, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Garden furniture
If garden furniture is available, it is usually in the shape of a table as well as chairs/benches. Remember to take cushions, lounge beds and sunshade, if any, inside the house at night and at departure. Cushions are not always available for the garden furniture (chairs, lounge beds and lounges). It is not allowed to use the duvets, pillows, cushions or mattresses of the holiday house on the beach, the terrace or the lawn.
The number of garden chairs does not always correspond to the number of persons stated in the presentation.
A sunshade is not available in all holiday houses.
Garden grill
Some of the holiday houses have a garden grill. You can use the grill as much as you like, but the letting office assumes no responsibility for the standard and the cleanliness of the grill.
Important! Do not place a disposable grill directly on a wooden foundation as it leaves burn marks.
Guests
The number of tenants must not exceed the number stated in the presentation as the drain system of the holiday house is adjusted for this number of persons. Therefore, it is not allowed to put up tents or to park caravans and recreational vehicles at the site. Top Heating Top In the period from November until May we will start the preheating before you arrive. In that way the holiday house has reached a temperature of 14-18 degrees C when you arrive. As regards houses with indoor swimming pool, the pool will have a temperature of 24-28 degrees C when you arrive to the house. As tenant you only pay for the heating - the service work is included in the price. This will cause a difference between the meter number on the consumption envelope and the actual number at the electricity-meter on arrival. The electricity consumption is calculated as the difference between the starting number, stated at arrival, and the number stated by the tenant at departure.
Please read more under "Consumption"
Hire of cot, high chair, bed linen and towels
By most of the letting offices you can rent a cot, a high chair, bed linen and towels. These items will either be delivered to the holiday house on the day of arrival, or you have to pick them up yourselves and bring them back to the office again. Please enquire about this when you book the house or at the office.
A linen package contains a sheet, a duvet and pillow and sometimes also 1 towel as well as a dish towel. The price for the hire of a linen package depends on the letting office. This price does not include a weekly change of the linen package. If you wish to have the linen package changed every week, please inform us about this by ordering.
The payment is separate from the rental confirmation document, but can be carried out directly at the office or by use of the envelope for extras in the house.
Hot-water tank
Most hot-water tanks hold about 30 l of water (app. 2 showers).
House description
The descriptions of the privately owned holiday houses are worked out from our best conviction. We make reservations for changes as well as misprints and typing errors.
The ground-plans are illustrated as exact as possible, but they are only intended as a guide and deviations regarding location of beds, woodburning stove, toilets etc. may arise. In order to maintain the clarity of the ground-plan, terraces, basements, first floors etc. are often not illustrated on the ground-plan. If you have any doubts, please ask us. Please read more under "Changes", "Location", "Photo" and "Site"
Humidity
Often a holiday house is not vacated for a longer period, and therefore the indoor climate can feel humid and moist. The fastest and most efficient relief is a thorough airing immediately after arrival. Please read more under "Allergy".
Information
In some holiday houses you will find an information folder. It contains guidance and some good advice regarding the stay in a Danish holiday house.
Furthermore, you will find an additional information folder or a video tape in holiday houses with swimming pool and/or jacuzzi with guidance to the use of pool/jacuzzi as well as the sanitary rules, which must be complied with at all times.
Please read more below under "Instructions"
Insects
Please read more under "Vermin"
Instructions
The letting office/the owner provides instructions for the special electrical installations/equipment as far as possible. If you should be doubtful about the use of any of the installations, please do not hesitate to contact them.
Please read more above under "Information"
Jacuzzi
In the holiday houses you can find two main types of jacuzzis.
The first type of jacuzzi could be regarded as a miniature swimming pool as the water, which has been heated to a temperature of 38 °C, remains in the jacuzzi for the duration of the stay in the holiday house. The water contains chlorine and as in a swimming pool the water is constantly filtered and cleaned. The technical and electrical installations in this type of jacuzzi must never be switched off as this may result in a considerable deterioration of water quality - among other things because of the lack of water filtration.
The second type of jacuzzi has to be filled with fresh water every time it is used. There has to be at least 10-15 cm of water above the side jets or else the jacuzzi does not work. Most jacuzzis of this type come equipped with a heating element, which makes sure that the fresh water - cold or warm (max. 30 °C) - is heated to about 38 °C within 1-1½ hours. However, a few jacuzzis of this type have to be filled with very hot water (max. 40 °C). If the water which is poured into the jacuzzi is too hot (above 40 °C) there is a risk that the superheating valve close, whereafter the jacuzzi cannot be used again before a trained technician has opened the superheating valve again. Therefore, very hot water should never be poured into a jacuzzi of this type.
If a jacuzzi is filled with hot water, it will take a while before there is hot water for the taps and showers again.
High water temperatures create a perfect environment for germs. Therefore, it is very important that no unnecessary germs are added to the jacuzzi, and for this reason the rules for using a jacuzzi should always be followed. Furthermore, the water in this type of jacuzzi must never be used more than once and clorine tablets must be added according to the instructions. It is also necessary to clean and wash down the jacuzzi every time it has been used.
Like when using a swimming pool, it is very important for the hygiene that guests shower thoroughly before use. Shampoo, soap etc. must never be brought into a jacuzzi, and animals must under no circumstances be taken into a jacuzzi.
Please read the special folder that you receive when you pick up the key.
Key
It is stated on the rental confirmation document where the key to the holiday house is placed. Usually there is only one key, even though the holiday house can accommodate more than one family. The keys to the mail box, the tool shed etc. are often to be found in the house (e.g. on the notice board in the kitchen) or together with the main key.
The key must be dropped off/placed at the same place as where you collected it on arrival.
Please read more under "Arrival", "Closing times" and "Moving in"
Kitchen equipment
The kitchen equipment in the holiday house usually consists of the number of glasses, cups, plates and cutlery, corresponding with the number of persons stated in the presentation. The equipment can be a compounding of different types. The houses often contain less pots and pans than a private household. Please clean the pots and pans as well as the oven very thoroughly after use. These rules are valid even though a final cleaning has been ordered
Location
Together with the house description you can find a map, which shows the destination of the house. If the house is located in a very small town, the next larger town is stated as the area.
A holiday house can be described as safe for children or quietly situated even though there is a road close to the house.
A location safe for children does not necessarily mean that the house lies close to a sandy beach.
Even though it does not always appear so on the picture, the holiday houses are often situated very close to each other, and you cannot judge from the pictures if the house has an undisturbed location. Please read more under "House description" and "Site"
Loungers
Many owners of holiday houses have bought loungers for their own use. Loungers are therefore NOT standard equipment, and it can NOT be taken for granted that loungers are available in the holiday house. If the loungers are present in the house, you can naturally make use of these.
Please remember to take the loungers indoor right after use, as the weather wears hard on furniture which is left outside. The letting office is not responsible for the standard and cleanliness of the loungers.
Mail
In Denmark the post offices are open from 9.30 a.m. until 5 p.m. on weekdays. Saturdays the opening hours are 9 a.m. until 12 noon. However, smaller post offices have other and shorter opening hours. The postage rage for a letter until 20 g is at present DKK 4.00 (app. EUR 0,55) - and for abroad DKK 5.00 (app. EUR 0,7).
Military excercise
Military excercises are often carried out in the following areas: Hevring, Jægerspris, Kulsbjerg, Melby, Nymindegab, Oksbøl/Blåvand, Ho, Vejers, Lystrup, Raghammer, Sjællands Odde, Grærup, Sømarken and Tranum/Rødhus. The training activities are often restricted in the holiday periods and are often advertised in the local papers.
Moving in
By every change of tenants the owner has access to the holiday house between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. in order to carry out minor repairs or the like. Within the same time the holiday house must be prepared for the next tenancy. For these reasons the key cannot be collected before 3 p.m. on the day of arrival.
Please read more under "Arrival" and "Key"
Noise Top During your vacation, everyday life in Denmark goes on. Therefore, noises from e.g. building sites, restaurants, air planes, cars, speed boats, military training etc. can occur. However, we are convinced that you, as a holiday guest, can understand that the letting office cannot be held responsible for these noises.
Please read more under "Military excercise"
Passport
On arrival to Denmark you have to produce a valid passport. It is also necessary to bring your passport if you wish to visit Germany.
Pets
If a presentation of a holiday house indicates that a pet is allowed, you can bring one pet along with you, for instance one dog or one cat. If you wish to bring more than one pet, please contact the letting office. (There might be a charge for pets - se rental conditions).
The individual tenant is responsible for scratches as well as stains on floors, furniture etc.
We ask for your understanding why the holiday house MUST be cleaned for dog's/cat's hair before departure - even though a final cleaning has been ordered. THE DOG/CAT MUYST NEVER BE LEFT ALONE IN THE HOLIDAY HOUSE. Usually you can bring the dog along to the beach. According to Danish rules a pet has to be kept on a leash. Also at the site of the holiday house you must have your dog on a leash out of consideration for the neighbours.
Dogs and cats
can be brought into Denmark from The Faroe Islands, Island, Norway, Sweden, Ireland, England, Japan, New Zealand and Australia in the company of a person. From other countries a rabies vaccination, carried out at least 30 days and no more than 12 months before arrival, is required.
If the animal is under 3 months old, a rabies vaccination is not required from any country, but a bill of health - signed no more than 10 days earlier – is required. If the animal is between 3 and 4 months old, a vaccination against rabies is required. If this vaccination was carried out less than 30 days before arrival, a bill of health must be presented. However, special conditions apply to dogs and cats brought into Denmark from Greenland, Australia and Malaysia.
It is not legal to bring fighting dogs, among these the breeds pit bull terrier, tosa as wells as hybrids of these, into the country.
We draw the attention of our foreign guests to the fact that special rules regarding the return of dogs or cats to your home country can occur after the holiday. Furthermore, the above rules can change, and therefore you ought to always contact the veterinary authorities in your own country or alternatively the Danish food department on tel. no. +45 33 95 60 00 BEFORE DEPARTURE!

Together with the house presentation you will see a picture of the house.
If the house is relatively new or if it is still under construction (note the year of building), a model photo or drawing, which is selected/drawn from the description of the house, is used. Therefore, we ask you to pay extra attention to the text and the symbols of the presentation when you rent a holiday house, which has a model photo or drawing. If a model photo or drawing is used, it will appear from the photo in the shape of an indication in the lower left corner.
Sometimes a holiday house has been painted or in other ways changed in such a way that it differs from the photo of the presentation.
Please read more under "House description", “Location” and “Site”
Prices
The prices are stated in EUR. The rent price is stated for the whole periode you have selected. To the price, a health and cancellation insurance, handling fee etc. can be added (please se rental conditions attached to the house-presentation). The total price excl. various kinds of consumption (electricity, oil, gas, telephone as well as rent of linen, cot and high chair) is stated on your rental confirmation document.
We make a reservation for misprints.
Please read more under “Consumption”, “Electricity” and "Pets"
Radio/TV/satellite dish
If a radio is stated in the text, it can be an older model or a transister.
You cannot expect that the TV can receive coded channels. In some areas it is not possible to receive more than one Danish channel. A remote control is not always available. The electrical devices are often to be manually operated.
If the holiday house is equipped with a satellite dish, it is not allowed to change the adjustment of the satellite dish and the receiver. If occasion should arise, we are compelled to order a radio/TV electrician for the readjustment - on the account of the tenant. By heavy rain or stormy weather the reception via antenna or satellite dish can be substantially reduced.
We cannot guarantee for the reception of specific satellite programmes.
Rubbish
There is no collection of rubbish by the holiday houses on Saturdays, which is the USUAL day of arrival. Therefore, you may find a half full rubbish bag on arrival, but it will be replaced by a new one by the next collection of rubbish.
Remember that only original and correctly filled - not over filled - rubbish bags will be collected. The bag must only be filled to the broken line.
If you need an extra rubbish bag, please contact the next grocer's shop. Don’t put bottles and paper in the rubbish bag. These items must be dropped off in the nearest bottle/paper container. Cardboard must be dropped off at the nearest recycling ground.
Sales and service offices
From the rental confirmation document as well as from the information folder in the holiday house, it appears to which letting office your holiday house is attached. Here you can receive advice, guidance and remedy for any problem.
Sauna
Saunas in holiday houses are small (usually only for 2 persons). If it is not specifically stated in the holiday house, it is not allowed to pour water on the sauna oven, as this can cause a short circuit or damage of the heating element in the oven. Resin may occur in the sauna.
If the sauna is not turned on immediately, it is a good idea to check the fuse, which is situated on the sauna oven (the small black button beside the temperature/time button or on the underside), the fuses of the house or the ground fault circuit interrupter, before you contact anyone for help.
3 fuses are often places together in the sauna group and as it is not always possible to determine which fuse has blown, it can be necessary to replace all 3 fuses.
Furthermore, you can read the instructions in the information folder of the house.
Coloured towels can come off on the wooden benches and may therefore not be brought into the sauna.
Only rarely is a thermometer to be found in the sauna.
Shower

Site
Usually the type of site is stated in the description of the house. In most cases the holiday house is situated on a natural site or a dune site, which means that the grass will not be cut. If the holiday house is new (cf. building year), it can occur that the site is not completely laid out, and this can of course be inconsistent with the type of site, stated in the description.
Only rarely does the site have a boundary line (fence, hedge or the like). The size of the site appears from the symbols, but this is not always tantamount to the fact that you can walk all over the site, as it can be planted with trees, bushes etc. Equally, the site can be a part of a dune area, which cannot be marked.
Please read more under "House description", "Location", "Photo" and "Size"
Size
The size (m²) of the holiday house is measured by the outer walls (excl. terrace). Only rarely does the site have a boundary line (fence, hedge or the like). The size of the site is not always tantamount to the fact that you can walk all over the site, as it can be planted with trees, bushes etc. If the site is e.g. close to the beach, it may be part of a path leading to the beach.
Special equipment
Many holiday houses are equipped with e.g. washing machine, tumbler, dish washer, microwave oven etc. Deficiencies, if any, cannot always be remedied during the weekend, but the letting office will naturally do everything possible to repair the equipment as soon as possible. Short dropouts of the washing machine, dish washer etc. do not entitle you to a compensation.
Please note: Most washing machines cannot be opened until 1-2 min. after the finishing of the washing programme.
Please read more under "Information" and "Instructions"
Sunbed
If the holiday house contains a sunbed, it is often a single sunbed, which is usually mounted over one of the beds or on the bed-loft. It can also be a small sunbed. Please notice that the tubes of the sunbeds in the holiday houses are weaker than the tubes of the sunbeds in the solariums, and therefore you cannot expect the same tanning effect. Should the tubes fail to shine, try to turn them a centimeter round after which they will usually function again. Please bring your own safety spectacles. Telephone Top If the holiday house contains a telephone, it can in a few cases be a telephone for only incoming calls. Check the description of the holiday house very thoroughly. However, it is always possible to call the alarm center "112".
Telephone
Most of the phones are equipped with a counter, which is placed on the wall near the phone (in some cases in the tool shed or the like). Please note that the ringing can be adjusted/disconnected on many phones.
Check the telephone counter on arrival in order to prevent misunderstandings. A counter step costs app. DKK 2.25 (app. EUR 0,30).

Terrace
Most terraces are made out of wood, and only rarely do they have a fencing. The terraces are often raised because of the broken ground. The space between the terrace boards can be up to 3 cm. By stone terraces irregularities can occur.

Unforeseen incidents
By unforeseen incidents like e.g. sale or compulsory sale of the rented holiday house, the letting office can be forced to give notice to terminate the entered rental confirmation document, as we do not have any influence on these kinds of incidents. However, we will always do our utmost to find an alternative solution.
Theft and the like
It can occur that some equipment is missing from the holiday house, compared to the presentation. In that case we will naturally provide a compensation as soon as possible.
Validity
The presentation of the house is valid for one calendar year. However, the house can still be booked for the followig year, but in that case we have to make reservations against changes of equipment, prices and our right of disposal of the holiday house for the next season. Therefore, check the information on your rental confirmation document very closely. Vermin
The letting office is not responsible for and does not accept any compensation claims in connection with any occurrence of insects or vermin in the holiday house, as they are a part of the Danish nature (e.g. ants, earwigs, flies, woodlice, mice etc.). In acute and extreme cases we ask you to contact the local sales and service office, and we will try to remedy the problem. Mice can occur - especially during harvest time.
Water consumption
In Denmark there is a very strong focus on environmentally correct behaviour. These conditions come to expression through e.g. high duties on electricity and water consumption. Therefore, as tenants, you will have to contribute through your consumption of electricity and oil in the holiday houses. In order to avoid practical problems in connection with reading of water clocks in the individual houses, we have decided not to collect a separate payment for water. From an environmental attitude - and out of consideration for your own financial circumstances - we encourage you to a rational behaviour in connection with the consumption of energy and water in the rented holiday house.
